Yellow Groove

The latest addition to our garden is a small yellow groove bamboo plant. Well, it’s small now, but it has the potential to grow to 26′. Hopefully it will eventually turn into something like the mature bamboo we saw at Bamboo Garden where we bought it. That place is really spectacular. As the name suggests, they specialize on bamboo and have an amazing variety. A large part of the nursery is a display garden featuring groves of the most spectacular bamboo. I never knew there were so many different kinds. The timber bamboo varieties were most impressive – they can grow up to 70′. Not exactly suitable for a small backyard, but some day I would like my very own grove of Rubro. One can dream…
