Photosynth

Photosynth has been around for a while; I think a beta version was released to the public back in August. But I only just got around to playing around with it, and I was really amazed. It’s a rare combination of powerful features and an extremely intuitive user interface.
What is it? Essentially, it is a tool that recreates the spatial experience of the photographer. Instead of looking at an album of 2-D photographs, Photosynth provides a highly immersive viewing experience, that really gives you a sense of being in the 3-D context. It’s hard to explain, but totally obvious once you experience it.
Check out this example, that I created in just a few minutes.
