The weather was great, we met a bunch of people from around the neighborhood, we weeded and cleaned and dug and planted and watered and mulched – now we’re exhausted! It was a very successful event and we got a great start on creating a neighborhood pocket park. Of course we completely underestimated the amount of work and didn’t get nearly as far as I’d hoped – even with the help of a work crew from the Department of Corrections that just happened to stop by to help us. But that’s OK – we knew it was going to be a longer term project. After all, that oak tree we planted will require a couple of decades before it amounts to much. And as always, we have plenty of ideas of things to plant in the space.
Here are some photos from the event.
