Learning to garden also means learning about your local climate and the type of plants that will thrive in it. The Pacific Northwest has mild winters and plenty of moisture, but comes with its own set of challenges: lack of sun, cool temperatures, wet spring and fall, dry summers. Over the years, a few plants have really done well – and it’s not always those that you would expect.
