After an unseasonably dry winter, western Washington was hit by a series of storm fronts, dumping 6’ of snow in the mountains. We really needed that snow pack; and of course it made for some awesome snow-shoeing conditions.
Together with our friends Todd and Kei Chi we visited the Reflection Lakes on Mt. Rainier. That view of Rainier is one of the most iconic and featured on numerous postcards.
Of course we couldn’t enjoy the reflection, but it was more than made up for by the magical winter landscape – trees so encrusted with snow that they took on all kinds of bizarre, other-worldly shapes.
Here’s the photo album of our outing.
